It is almost always better to learn in person, rather than from a book or video. However, more information overall adds to cumulative knowledge you can gain from studying about how to develop your mind, body and self-awareness.
There are hundreds of different exercises, poses, forms, sets, etc. Some of these exercises are thousands of years old. Low-impact and all with various levels of difficultly allow everyone to benefit from practicing. All poses have physical, mental and self-awareness aspects, depending on the individual's goals and interests.
